POLITIK LUAR NEGERI AMERIKA SERIKAT TERHADAP KONFLIK DI SUDAN DARI TAHUN 1998-2011

This study aims to determine the foreign policy of the United States that implemented in Sudan since Sudan is a country that experienced a prolonged ethnic conflict. The issue of human rights violations as well as civilians who became victims because of the ethnic conflict triggered the need for outside intervention Sudan. At first the get the official mandate of the UN Security Council to intervene in the Sudan is the African Union, but the United States is also active in implementing foreign policy in Sudan, humanitarian intervention, and as a mediator in resolving the ethnic conflict in Sudan. Foreign policy that run the United States to Sudan have some consideration, first to resolve ethnic conflicts in Sudan, both for the United States national interest related to the natural resources that exist in the Sudan, particularly Southern Sudan. The way taken by the United States in carrying out its foreign policy in Sudan despite criticism from the international community but the United States succeeded in running its foreign policy in Sudan.
