MODEL PENGELOLAAN CANDI PLAOSAN DAN LANSKAPNYA SEBAGAI OBJEK EKOWISATA

Prambanan area is located in fertile lowland with a good water supply. Therefore, it is potencial to be used as agricultural land and centre of community in the past. Considering the past community that is closely related to religion, it is rational if a large amount of temples are built here as the area meets requirements of sacred temple, both Hindus and Budhas. The temples are Plaosan, Prambanan, Sewu, Lumbung, and Bubrah. The objectives of this research are identifying and determining potencies of Plaosan Temple and its landscapes to create a management model. This research is conducted by collecting primary and secondary data, such as archaeological data, landscapes data, and existing management condition. The next steps are assesing and analysing the data. Based on the steps, it can be identified that Plaosan Temple has architectural, aesthetic, scientific, historic, social, and economic significances. Plaosan Temple existence is also supported by its landscapes. Nowadays, management is conducted only on Plaosan Temple, while the landscapes has not been carried out optimally yet. The potencies of the temples show significances which can be bequeathed to present and future community. Nevertheless, the landscapes are assumed as less important objects and neglected. Therefore, to keep this valuable cultural heir and its landscapes, it needs sustainable management. The management of Plaosan Temple and its landscapes as an ecotourism has to be started as a part of conservation project, followed by development, and utilization. Preservation is conducted to all of landscape aspects, tool development and infrastructure, institutional, and human resources, which lasts to possitive results that are everlasting cultural and natural landscapes, along with increasing society income. This management model involves some related parties as stakeholders and they are responsible for the appropriate tasks and obligations.
