PENGEMBANGAN AGROWISATA BERKELANJUTAN BERBASIS KOMUNITAS DI KOTA BATU, JAWA TIMUR

Community Based Tourism (CBT) is a development strategy which uses tourism as a tool to strengthen local communities. This study purpose are: (1) Reviewing the principles of Community Based Tourism (CBT) is implemented in the Batu City and (2) identify the factors that affect the application of the principles of CBT. This study used the combination quantitative and qualitative approach. Purposively established research sites in Batu, East Java. The unit analysis of study are individual members of communities and institutions. The primary data collection is done by interviews, in-depth interviews, and observation. Secondary data was collected from the data contained in the relevant stakeholder (SKPD and government). The data analysis in this study are quantitative analysis (statistical) and qualitative (content analysis and interactive). The application of economic principles of CBT in the development of agritourism creation of the work of local employment, the development of the tourism sector, and community income derived from tourist expenditure. The application of the social principles of CBT in the development of agrotourism is characterized by an increase in quality of life can be measured from the perception of the community about the development of agro-tourism that reflects the improved quality of life, community satisfaction, and involvement of individuals and organizations/local institutions. Development of agritourism impacts on social values change about the guest, the value of welcoming guests, treatment, and philosophy of reception. From the aspect of gender segregation of employment generating sector agro tourism, labeling (stereotypes) and double workload for women. Application of the principles of CBT culture indicates the development of agrotourism not strengthen all aspects of social capital. Tourists and generate community interaction and exchange of cultural contacts, generate new knowledge for the community and receiving a symbol of modernity from outside the community. The application of political principles CBT in the development of agrotourism showed a strengthening of the role and functions of local institutions and increase the power of the community. Application of the principles of CBT associated with the development of the carrying capacity concept by the community. Factors that affect the application of economic principles CBT is economic structure in Batu City, and the role of government. Factors that affect the application of the social principles is the status specificity Batu, natural resources, and the strength of the local culture. Factors that affect the application of the principle of culture is a growing culture of multiculturalism, openness to information, and the local work ethic.
