KONJUNGSI DALAM BAHASA ARAB

This thesis discussed the conjunctions in Arabic, where the units of the language with the conjunctions would be a larger and regular grammar. The research was conducted through a Arabic linguistic perspective. The researcher focused this study on the concept, behavior, and meanings of the conjunctions in Arabic with syntactic and semantic approaches. Based on the discussion of the conjunctions in Arabic, it could be concluded that the tools linking one constituent to another constituent varied. One of these tools was a conjunction or 'athf in term of the concept of the Arabic language. The presence of 'athf that linked language units could be an integrated grammar. In addition, the meaning would vary. The variety of the relations of the meaning reflected the diversity of messages and problems of human life as language users. It was necessary to say that in this study were found twelve meaning relations of 'athf in Arabic, namely (1) the meaning of the sum, (2) the meaning of the direct sequence, (3) the meaning of the order of grace periode, (4) the meaning of the election, (5) the meaning of allowance, (6) the meaning of doubt, (7) the meaning of vagueness, (8) the meaning of the details, (9) the meaning of completion, (10) the meaning of the assertion, (11) the meaning of the correction, (12) the meaning of negation, and (13) the meaning of the equation
