Background. Orotracheal intubation can cause increasing in hemodynamic responses which can increase morbidity and mortality. This study tested the hypothesis that oropharyngeal lidocaine instillation is better in decrease hemodynamic changes post orotracheal intubation compare with intravenous lidocaine. Methods. A prospective, randomized double blind controlled trial study was performed in 101 patient (ASA I-II) undergoing general anesthesia with orotracheal intubation.
