The development of information and communication technologies in the information age when seen from the perspective of Porter's 5 Forces is the threat of substitute for the printed media industry, especially newspapers, because now many online news portal that is always up to date in seconds and can be accessed anytime and anywhere by smart phones, portable computers, tablet computers, etc. Kompas Daily view this development not as a threat but an opportunity to launch Kompas MMM (Multimedia, Multichannel, Multiplatform) in March 2011. Kompas MMM is a mass media platform to collaborate between printed media and digital media ranging from the form of products, distribution channels and how to access them. Kompass MMM can be enjoyed in the form of text, audio and video (multimedia), can be obtained from delivering newspapers and the internet (multichannel), and can be accessed through printed media, computer, tablet pc or smartphone (multiplatform). The challenge for Kompas after launching the MMM is to align business strategy and information technology (IT) strategy, because it is loaded with computer engineering to work at it. The process of business strategy and IT alignment starts with knowing the maturity level of the current alignment of strategies using the Strategic Alignment Maturity (SAM) developed by Luftman (2000), after which the level of maturity are improved using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to align with the strategic objective as a standard tool of strategy formulation in Kompas. The results showed four of the six criteria of maturities of business strategy and IT alignment in Kompas are on the third level (established and focused), they are communication, authority, scope & architecture and skill, at this level the company began to recognize the existence of IT as a business enabler and IT began to concentrate on the authority, process, and communication to achieve specific business goals and focused. Criteria of competence and partnerships are at level four (improved and managed), at this level of IT started to show authority and effective services so that IT acts as one factor in improving business success and sustainability, as well as to enhance the company's competitive advantage. Overall the average maturity of the alignment of business strategy and IT at level three showed relatively mature and aligned at the company's internal sphere, it is proven by 12 Kompass Digital products since Kompas MMM began to be developed in 2008. Alignment maturity level should be increased to a level four or five that emphasized on IT support of business strategy firm that works strategically with other companies
