ANALISIS PENYELESAIAN BANK GAGAL YANG TIDAK BERDAMPAK SISTEMIK: KASUS PADA BANK PERKREDITAN RAKYAT &ldquo

According to the Law Number 24 year 2004 about the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (IDIC), as its functions to actively participate in maintaining the stability of banking system, IDIC has its task to perform the handling of systemic and non-systemic failing bank. The resolution of nonsystemic failing bank is carried out by either rescuing the bank or not. Meanwhile, the resolution of systemic failing bank is by rescuing the bank. The decision of rescuing or not rescuing of non systemic failing bank based on the estimated cost needed to rescue the failed bank as compared to the estimated cost of rescuing the bank. IDIC has a method to estimate the cost either to rescue or not rescue the failing bank that has been used to handle 35 non systemic failing bank. The goal of the research it to evaluate the method that used by IDIC to estimate the cost of rescuing and the cost of not rescuing the the non systemic failing bank. According to the research, writer concludes that the method need to be improved especially on estimation of fund needed to fulfill liquidity, asumption of 1 year timeframe need to be changed to 6 month, and also return of asset need to be consider. Besides that, the liquidity cost estimation is also need to be calculated in estimation cost not rescue the failing bank
