HUBUNGAN IBU BEKERJA DENGAN KETERLAMBATAN BICARA PADA ANAK

Background. Recently the number of working mothers increased significantly. The prevalence of speech delay in children has increased as well. One of risk factors of speech delay in children is an environmental factor, including working mothers. Objective. To determine the correlation between working mothers and speech delay in children. Methods. A case-control study of 45 children diagnosed with speech delay was matched with 45 children of control group based on gender and age. Subjects were children aged 12 to 36 months who experienced speech delay.We excluded children with hearing loss, global developmental delay, mental retardation and autism. We analysed another risk factor such as mother educational level, family income, bilinguality, television viewing, lackof stimulation, child caregiving, and family history of speech delay.
