UJI BANDING RESPON TEKANAN DARAH DAN LAJU JANTUNG PADA INTUBASI ENDOTRAKEA ANTARA PREMEDIKASI GABAPENTIN 800 MG DENGAN CLONIDIN 0,2 MG PER ORAL

Introduction : Endotracheal intubation are associated with cardiovascular changes such as hypertension, tachycardia and dysrythemias. The aim of the present study to compare the responses of blood pressure and heart rate in endotracheael intubation of 800 mg gabapentin premedication with 0.2 mg per oral clonidin. Methods : Study design with double blind randomized controlled trial. The study subjects who were scheduled elective surgery at the Central Building Integrated Surgery (GBST) RS Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, which performed under general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation. The research consisted fivety patients divided into two groups consisting of 25 patients, according to to the agents to be used that is the group A (n = 25) received gabapentin 800 mg and group B (n = 25) received 0.2 mg clonidin 2 hours before the schedule surgery. The result were assessed about blood pressure and heart rate 3 minutes before induction as a base-line, after induction and after intubation at 1,3,5 and 10 minutes. Result : There was no statistically difference between two groups in the blood pressure responses to tracheal intubation (p <0.05). Heart rate responses was statistically difference between two groups at 1 minute after intubation that was group gabapentin 90.56 (11.362) beat/mnt compared clonidin 82.24 (11.991) beat/mnt (p < 0.05) and 3 minutes after intubation that was group gabapentin 86.36 (11.489) beat/mnt compared clonidin 78.80 (10.828) beat/mnt (p < 0.05). The blood pressure responses to tracheal intubation was group gabapentin more stable then group clonidin and the heart rate responses to tracheal intubation was group clonidin more stable then group gabapentin. Conclusions : The present study demonstrated that the blood pressure responses to tracheal intubation was more stable in 800 mg gabapentin premedication then with 0.2 mg per oral clonidin, and the heart rate responses to tracheal intubation was more stable in 0.2 mg clonidin premedication then with 800 mg per oral gabapentin
