Background: In Indonesia cardiovascular disease is the main cause of mortality with risk factors of hypertension, hyperglicemia, obesity and hyperlipidemia related to unhealthy eating pattern, less physical activities, and smoking habit. Nearly one third (33.1%) of adults in Sulawesi Utara are overweight and obese three times greater than the national prevalence of 10.3%. This figure indicates that Sulawesi Utara is facing double burden.
