ANALISIS KESELAMATAN ANGKUTAN PERKERETAAPIAN (Studi kasus: Masinis yang beroperasi di Daop 6 Yogyakarta)

Safety is an important requirement that is guaranteed in railways transportation. Human (train driver) as crewman has job descrption to operate the train. He is one of important factors in the safety of railways, so that his physical readiness, mental and professional skills are needed. Fatigue is a natural risk that must be faced by train driver, as a human being when doing work. The data show that mostly train accidents involving a train driver fatigue. Therefore it is necessary to do research to find the cause and how to solve the problem, in order to reduce train accidents in terms of improvement of railway safety. Research carried out by using a Likert Scale questionnaire with open and closed questions. Respondents only give a mark in the alternative answers and fill in the blank form that have been provided, based on their experiences. The questionnaire consists of 7 (seven) independent variables: quality of sleep, workload, health conditions, situation, motivation, spirit and personal problems, and also a dependent variable (fatigue). From 130 questionnaires which is distributed, there were only 112 questionnaires which could be analyzed. Data from questionnaires were analyzed first with the descriptive analysis in order to know the description and validity of data. The result of the Likert Scale score from questionnaires compared with normative groups by using the Method of Successive Interval (MSI), so we get the numbers as the score of each alternative response. Then it analyzed by Backward Regression Analysis Method to determine what factors and how far these factors influence driver fatigue. Mostly drivers are entered in the category of low-fatigue (not experiencing fatigue) with 69.6%. Regression analysis produced the equation Y = - 0.662 + 0.154. X1 + 0.411. X2 + 0.367. X3 with r-square 0.381, which means only 3 factors that affect driver fatigue. These are workload (0.154), spirit (0.411), and personal problems (0.367). The train driver overcome fatigue by sleeping (30.82%), drinking a lot of water (21.97%), and stretching in their cabin (14.75%)
