Calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH2] is a common antibacterial agent used in dental pulp therapy. It is known that Ca(OHh is able to induce cellular changes in pulp tissue. An inflammatory mediator nitric oxide (NO), functions in immune system and some cellular changes as in cell death mechanisms. The effect of Ca(OHh in NO regulation in pulp tissue cells is still unknown. As fibroblast is an important component in pulp tissue, the aim of this study was to investigate whether NO production is affected by Ca(OH)2 stimulation in fibroblast cells.
