UTILIZATION OF LIQUID WASTE OF TOFU INDUSTRY AND LEACHATE AS LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER THROUGH FERMENTATION PROCESS

Poor soil condition with low organic substances content in the soil and expensive price of fertilizer in the market can hamper the increase of agriculture productivity. The problem can be solved through utilization of waste around of us. Liquid waste of tofu industry and leachate as liquid waste have high organic substances content and it can be used as base material to make liquid organic fertilizer. The amount of liquid waste of tofu industry and leachate were abundant enough and they were not utilized optimally yet, so that the wastes can be utilized optimally through fermentation process and it can reduce environment pollution. The research of liquid organic fertilizer production process was done through fermentation process. Step 1 of research was done to know the best composition of liquid waste of tofu industry and leachate to produce liquid organic fertilizer. Initial analysis result of liquid waste of tofu industry and leachate characteristic showed that those wastes had high enough of macro nutrients content as the base material to produce liquid organic fertilizer. Step 2 of research was done to scale up of production capacity process for about 10 L from the best composition of liquid waste of tofu industry and leachate which was gotten from step 1 of research and economy analysis was done to know the feasibility of liquid organic fertilizer making process. The research results showed that liquid organic fertilizer produced through fermentation process with scale up 10 L had fulfilled standard of minimum technique requirement for liquid organic fertilizer, so that it was feasible to be applied. Liquid organic fertilizer product had macro nutrients content with N content about 0.058 %, P content about 0.01 % and K content about 0.097 %. Micro nutrients content in liquid organic fertilizer product are zinc (Zn) content about 0.350 ppm, copper (Cu) content about < 0.01 ppm, manganese (Mn) content about 0.994 ppm, cobalt (Co) content about < 0.025 ppm, molybdenum (Mo) content about < 0.05 ppm, iron (Fe) content about 7.205 ppm and boron (B) content about 22.940 ppm.
