POTENSI BANTENG (Bos javanicus) SEBAGAI DAYA TARIK UTAMA WISATA SATWA LIAR DI TAMAN NASIONAL MERU BETIRI

Meru Betiri National Park area is low land tropical rain forests with highly biodiversity as habitat of protected and endemic flora and fauna. Bandealit in Meru Betiri National Park has potency that can be developed as location to observe wildlife such as banteng. The aim of this research are to know banteng as main attraction of wildlife tourism, to know other tourism objects as attraction to support wildlife tourism and to arrange any development strategy of banteng wildlife tourism in Meru Betiri National Park. Data of banteng population and its daily activity are collected by using search sampling, concentration count and scan technique sampling. Field observation and interview are used to identify other tourism objects as attraction to support wildlife tourism and to arrange any development strategy of wildlife tourism. Data are analyzed by mapping banteng location and other tourism objects using Arc.GIS 9.3, calculating time budget of daily activities, using descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. Based from the observation result about the number of banteng (Bos javanicus) population, time and location of observation, banteng (Bos javanicus) in Bandealit Resort are potentially developed as main attraction of wildlife tourism. Other tourism objects in Bandealit Resort will be able to support the development of banteng (Bos javanicus) wildlife tourism. Six priority strategies are resulted by SWOT analysis to develop banteng (Bos javanicus) wildlife tourism in Resort Bandealit, Meru Betiri National Park
