EVALUASI PAMERAN MUSEUM BENTENG VREDEBURG YOGYAKARTA: Kajian Untuk Mengembangkan Pameran Berkiblat Pada Pengunjung

Museum is a permanent institution that aims to educate and entertain the public. To reach the goal, museum needs a media to communicate its information. One of its media is exhibition. Exhibition is a communication media of museum to deliver its information that presented attractively, so that the public can study and gain amusement through visiting the exhibition. To have interesting exhibition, museum needs visitors study to gain the visitors� opinion. Benteng Vredeburg Museum of Yogyakarta in delivering its information uses diorama and collection exhibition. To gain visitors� opinion about the exhibition, Benteng Vredeburg Museum of Yogyakarta needs an evaluation. The evaluation is based on visitors� orientation by spreading questionnaire to museum visitors. Finally, the evaluation can be used as a media to measure the success of Benteng Vredeburg Museumof Yogyakarta in having its vision and mission and can be used as a guidance to develop the exhibition. The evaluation finds that the five variables in this research that consist of signage, label, lighting, design and exhibition room are not in ideal level according visitors� assessment. Further, visitors suggests some improvements to have museum more interesting, such as increasing intensity of light, detailed label, information of visitor circulation flow, interactive media and others. Finally, Benteng Vredeburg Museum of Yogyakarta can understand its visitors� want and need to be realized later
