KAJIAN PREKONSENTRASI Cu(II) DENGAN METODE EKSTRAKSI FASA PADAT MENGGUNAKAN KITIN TERIMOBILISASI DITIZON SEBAGAI ADSORBEN

Preconcentration of Cu(II) by solid phase extraction (SPE) method using chitin immobilized dithizone as adsorbent has been studied. Chitin was isolated from prawn seawater shells by means of deproteination with 3.5 % NaOH (m/v) and demineralization with 1 M HCl and then immobilized by dithizone in toluene medium. Chitin-immobilized dithizone obtained was characterized using infrared spectrometer and X-ray difraction. Prepared chitin immobilized dithizone was used as selective adsorbent for preconcentration of Cu(II) on solid phase extraction catridge. For that purpose, 10 mL Cu(II) was adsorbed on SPE column various pH of 4 to 8 and various mass of adsorbent with flow rate of 1 drop per 20 second (0.15 mL per minute). Desorption was carried out using 5 mL HCl and H2SO4 The results of study showed that preconcentration of 10 mL of Cu(II) solution using solid phase extraction (SPE) column loaded with chitin-immobilized dithizone reached optimum value at pH 6 with 150 mg chitin-immobilized dithizone as adsorbent and using eluent of 5 mL 2 M HCl. Preconcentration of various concentration of Cu(II) solution using the proposed SPE method give preconcentration factor of 3.11 out of theoretically 4.0 preconcentration factor. at concentration of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 M and the volume of eluent was also optimized. The remaining adsorption solution and result of desorption solution were analyzed for their Cu content using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS).
