PELESTARIAN LANSKAP BUDAYA KAWASAN PRAMBANAN

Prambanan area is rich of archaeological heritage that consists of Hindus and Budhist temple. At the present time, this area is developing as a center of economic and settlement. Prambanan area lies on two administrative territories, Sleman regency in Yogyakarta Province and Klaten Regency in Central Java Province. Besides the two governments, there are some stakeholders engaged in management of this area, including archaeological office of Yogyakarta and of Central Java province (BP3), and also P.T Taman Wisata. Prambanan area is also an important area for Indonesia, so that national government made some regulations about this area. Based on that facts, this research wants to learn about regulations that are applied on Prambanan area to formulate an ideal management to conserve it. There are some differences between existing land usage and study that was made by JICA in 1979. The differences mainly in form of a change from open area to settlement, especially around main acces, Jogja - Solo street and the complex of Prambanan archaeological park. Regulations that were made by Sleman and Klaten governments to direct the Prambanan as an agricultural area and settlement with rural nuance, there aren�t any results. It must be followed by technical regulation on it. There must be an anticipation effort to avoid totally changing of the rural nuance of this area to be a contemporary. The most critical thing is maintaining the open area in order to maintain the landscape. For the moment, archaeological heritages in Prambanan are sectorally managed. Each stakeholder works without making coordination with another. Whereas, conservation of Prambanan area as an archaeological landscape must be done by related stakeholders in an integrated and simultaneously way
