Application of Induced Polarization Methods to estimate Saprolite and Limonite Deposits, Kolo Bawah Area, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi

Interpretation of Induced polarization data to estimate saprolite and limonite deposits carried out. The case studies at Kolo Bawah, Morowali Central of Sulawesi. The 20 lines data aqiuisition with 200m length. Topography at the area is range of hill with medium to high slopes. The IP data processed and resulted the chargeability and resistivity parameters, and plotting at pseudodepth section. To find true resistivity and chargeability at the depth in all lines used RES2DINV. The section at the lines found vertical and horizontal distribution of resistivity and chargeability of the rock. The 20 section interpreted to distribution of nickel laterite i.e. saprolite and limonite. The survey areas about 125 acre at Kolo Bawah Morowali are mineral deposit especially nickel laterite. The nickel laterite consist of saprolite and limonite. The highest concentration at the saprolite layers. There are nickel laterite at all survey areas but different in concentration. The potential nickel concentration at the saprolite layers. At 20 lines tried to estimate limonite and saprolite deposits, base on interpretation of resistivity and chargeability value. The depth of limonite about 10 to 30 meters, saprolite about 10 up to 25 meters. Beneath Line07 and Line09 all limonite layers. The limonite deposit is 2.996.480 ton and saprolite is 2.664.610 ton.
