Pemberian Makanan Tambahan sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Keberhasilan Pengobatan Penderita Tuberkulosis Paru di Kotamadia Banjarmasin Propinsi Kalimantan Selatan: Suatu Evaluasi Ekonomi

Pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is still a priority health problem in Indonesia. Household survey on health which was conducted by Ministry of Health in 1992 and 1997 shows that PTB was the main cause of mortality. In the province of South Kalimantan province, the prevalence of acid fast positive PTB is 1.02/1000. In Banjarmasin PTB positioned on the second rank of all disease diagnosed among out patients at Puskesmas (Community Health Center) and hospitals that are 21.09% and 9.08% respectively. A Tuberculosis control program has been launched nationally since 1996. The program had been performed in Banjarmasin since 1996, but it has not obtained a satisfactory result. Cure rate in the period from 1996 to 1998 was still below target (less than 85%). A food supplementation was added in the Tuberculosis control program to improve patient's treatment compliance. This study aim to analyze cost effectiveness of the intervention. The economic evaluations apply cost effectiveness analysis. Subjects of the research are acid fast positive PTB. The result of cost effectiveness analysis is abstained ratio of CIE with intervention activity as much as 764.137,5 and in the control subject as much as 266.325,2. Although the intervention itself is not effective, the social-economic condition of the patients, a cure rate of treatment group of the program, risk factors of treatment effectiveness and an availability of cost should be taken into consideration, when a replication would be applied.
