Biodisel, The Alternative Diesel Fuel

Biodiesel as the alternative fuel for diesel engine, is many advantages and disadvantages, especially is used in Indonesia. Biodiesel is a blending fuel, the composition of fuel are ADO (Automotive Diesel Oil) and palm/castrol oil. As you know , Indonesia imported the 30 % diesel fuel from other country. And the increasing demand for diesel fuel every year. The Indonesian refinery for diesel oil did not increase the capacity. So the alternative diesel fuel have to be trying, one of that is biodiesel. BPPT (Badan Pengka jian dan Penerapan Teknologi) has a research to find the biodiesel that clean the environmental, low toxic the emission gas and high cetane number. Biodiesel (BPPT) has three products, that are B 10 (10% biodiesel and 90% ADO), B 20 (20% biodiesel), B30 (30% biodiesel). Now in PUSPITEK-BPPT Serpong Tangerang had small Biodiesel pilot plant and in The Riau province had a plant for biodiesel with capacity: 8 tons per day.
