Theoretically, traffic light at the junction allocates the green times for each arms according to the prevailing flow, and it is assumed that the traffic users move immediately when the green sign light is on. In fact, that condition infrequently happens. There is a time gap, which is called the starting lost time, due to delay at the first interval of green. Many factors affect the time gap, one of them is mixed traffic. A fast vehicle, such as a motorcycle-can not ride normally, and their performances are disturbed by slower vehicle. As a result the green time that had been set was not used effectively, so that the junction runs under its potential capacity. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of special arrangement on motorcycles at a junction, by separating from other vehicles and compared them with the existing condition. There are three locations were studied, namely Jetis, Demangan and Pojok Beteng Kulon junctions. Based on the analysis, by looking at the characteristics of saturation flow and the proportion of vehicle discharged every interval of 0.1 minute during green time, this study concludes that the arrangement of motorcycles at signalized intersection does not always increase the intersection capacity. Moreover, the arrangement of motorcycles beside the queue or in front of the queue does not show the significant difference. Keywords: lost time, delay, saturation flow, traffic light
