Aktivitas lipase pankreas Rattus norvegicus akibat pemberian ekstrak etanol daun Jati Belanda (Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk.)

ABSTRAK Pancreatic lipase activity of Rattus norvegicus affected by ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf (Guazuma alfalfa." Lamk.) Background : Obesity is one of the unwanted conditions which may be caused by the imbalance between energy intake and output. Few herbal medicines containing Jati Belanda leaves are believed to reduce body weight. Previous research showed that the mucilage of Jati Belanda leaf inhibited rat weight gain. Ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf decreased rat blood cholesterol level. Other researches showed that infusion of Jati Belanda leaf in vitro increased the activity of pancreatic lipase. Objective : This research was purposed to know the influence of ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf on the activity of pancreatic lipase. It was also intended to explore the effect of the extract on the rat weight and the increasing of Rattus norvegicus weight gain. Methods : Thirty male rats were divided into 5 groups by randomization. Group I received 10% ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf in the dose of 0.5 m11200 g body weighttday. Group II received 20% ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf in the dose of 0.5 m1/200 g body weight/day. Group III received 30% ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf in the dose 0.5 ml/200 g body weight/day. Group IV received 2 ml aquadest peroral/day and group V received orlistat, pancreatic lipase inhibitor 2.16 mg/200 g body weight/day. The rat body weight was measured everyday. On day 0 and 30 after the treatment the rat blood sample (seru,'N) was taken and the activity of pancreatic lipase was measured. The data was analysed using Anava test, Student's t test and regression test. Result : The result showed that the ethanol extract of Jati Belanda leaf decreased the activity of pancreatic lipase level up to 8.33 ± 9.27 U/I (group I), 9.33 ± 6.34 U/I (group II), 15.33 ± 7.61 U/I (group III) and 13.33 ± 7.33 U/1 (group V/positive control) but in group IV (negative control), increased the activity of pancreatic lipase level up to 15.17 ± 14.79 U/I.
