Kekuatan bisnis Indonesia dalam anatomi empiris - historis

ABSTRAK Using a historical approach, the author explores some empirical evidence of the economic system worldwide since the XVI century. In case of Indonesia, the "national" economy was running independently during the Majapahit era. Later on, mercantilism by European companies such as VOC dominated the economic system for 15 centuries. In 1870, an Agrarian Law was implemented by the Dutch colonial Government. in Hindia Belanda (Indonesia), which was highly accommodating to U.K. and U.S. foreign investment. This, then, was the first foreign investment law to w. be applied in Indonesian economic history, rather than the I 967 Law under New Order in the modern economy a century letter. Concerning national current issues, the author says that the issues of disparits, conglomeration and some difficulties tin creating Anti-Monopoly Laws are not the real technical problems to be solved. The more important thing and the most basic question is whether or not we are ready to be democratic, ready to transform progressively and even radically, to create a modern political system. This means that typical phenomena such as unnatural power monopoly and collusion between bureaucrats and capitalists will have to end.Keywords:economic system, capitalist
