As a fluid flows in a deflecting pipe it tends to be accelerated. When the fluid velocity is very high the pipe may becomes unstable since its natural frequency decreases. The pipe will oscillates and eventually becomes fatigue when the natural frequency decreases under the certain value. This phenomenon is discussed in the present study by using a mathematical model of pipe motion. The model is solved to obtain the natural frequency and the unstable condition of a fluid-conveying pipe with pinned ends. The mathematical results show that the natural frequency of the pipe decreases as the fluid velocity increases. This result agrees with the experimental data with an error of about seven percent.
