ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know the perception of the paddy farmer on the role of Subak related to food security in the sub district of Kediri, the system of Subak management and its implication on the food security of paddy farmers in Kediri Sub-district of Tabanan District.This research used the survey method, namely investigated them directly in the field. The analysis method used was the qualitative descriptive and statistical test namely simple linier regression, and product moment correlation, determination coefficient, and t-test.. The primary data were obtained by using interviews and questionnaires as data collection tools, while the secondary data obtained from written documents and files. The respondent of this study was 15% of the total of population 734 peoples in the three research villages, namely 110 people.]The result of research showed that paddy farmers would like to maintain the Subak that was very important for them. The reasons were because the Subak was very important to be maintained for the rice field irrigation, as a part of experiencing cultural philosophy values and inhabitant belief
