Implementasi Konsep Bela Negara Kalangan Pers Di Wilayah Kerja pWI Cabang Jawa Tengah=The Implementation of State Defence Concept Among Press In PWI Working Area of Middle Java.

Press as an institution which highly influences the success of nation and state development is still suspected to be lacking of its political idealism. Most people regard press as not having implemented the concept of state defence well yet. The press tends to post itself as an economic institution seeking for profit economically instead of being an influential medium for developing ideology, political, economy, socio-culture, and national defence. The press people, however, would certainly refuse this idea as they believe to having implemented the concept totally.Based on this phenomena, there was a research on The Implementation of State Defence Concept Among Press People in PWI Working Area of Middle Java. This research aims to find out the answers of how far the press people and their institution has implemented the constraints they are facing. Qualitative research was carried out, for about six monts by involving the subjects, particularly the reporters, to find the answers. The research took place in six working areas: Semarang, Kudus, Magelang, Pekalongan, Purwokerto, and Purworejo, which were considered to represent all of the press people in Middle Java.The results show that press people have implemented the concept of state defence like what is required by the norm of press, both legal and ethic norms. These people have implemented the concept both through their oral information, writings, and audio-visual broadcasts and through their daily behaviors when they interacted with people. Similarly, press institutions, both as an institution for conducting media and a prefessional institution, in this case PWI, have tried to implement the concept of state defence eventhough some media owners have not implemented the concept state defence system atically through personal character buiding since the beginning of personal recruitment. Of the constraints they face in implementing the concept of state defence are perseption differences between reportiers and bureaucrats about the implementation of the consept of state defence, and reporters bulnerability in implementing their idealism caused by economic factors.
