Revitalisasi Jalan Kepodang Kawasan Kota Lama Semarang

Abstrak The old city of Semarang has been left by its inhabitants as the central business district moved towards Simpang Lima, the new business district. The glorious colonial buildings has been deteriorated and no sign of life could be found anymore. The research focussed on the area near Kepodang street, the old main street of Semarang's old city. It aims to (1) identify the physical and non-physical potentials of the area, (2) identify the strategies and plans to revitalize the area, and (3) identify the new programs or functions to be transplanted, to revive the area. The strategies to revitalize the area are (1) insert the new functions, make new uses of old buildings, (2) renovate and reconstruction of significant buildings using conservation strategies, (3) develop pedestrian scheme and street commercial activities, (4) develop urban open space system, and (5) elevate the aesthetic qualities of the environmen
