The research area is situated in the upper sub watershed of Setail and the Genteng Irrigation in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. The main obyectives of this research are : (1) to analyze the influence of forest land use change in the upper Setail sub watershed on discharge flow of Setail river and, (2) to find out the water supply of Genteng irrigation as an impact of the forest change in upper Setail sub catchment area. The methods employed in this research is aerial photographic interpretation combined with field work. Aerial photograph of 1983, 1993 and land use map of 2001 were used to locate the area of land use change, while field work was conducted using the pusposive sampling technique.
