This article outlines some of the translation and exegetic reflections from both inside and outside Rumania on the figure of Mihai Eminescu, the national bard, according to Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga (1971: IX) and the most universal Rumanian poet, whose works are considered quintessential to the culture and sentiments of the Rumanian people. The analysis begins with some preliminary observations on the translation of poetry from an anthological perspective and refers to various classical dichotomies (sound-sense; naturalization-foreignization, acceptability-adequacy) in order to approach the diverse ranslations into Spanish of Eminescu’s poetry published in the Pensinsula, or in Latin America, or even in Rumania.
