PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF THINK PAIR SQUARE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS

This research aimed to know the increasing of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding which was taught by cooperative learning model of think pair square type. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control grup design. The research population was all students of grade 8th of SMP Negeri 10 Metro City in the academic year of 2013/2014. The research samples were students of VIIIC and VIIID class who were taken by purposive sampling technique. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical conceptual understanding. The conclusion of this research was think pair square model could increase the mathematical conceptual understanding of grade 8th students of SMP Negeri 10 Metro City in the academic year of 2013/2014.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair square. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 10 Kota Metro tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIC dan VIIID yang diambil dengan teknik purpossive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model think pair square dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kota Metro tahun pelajaran 2013/2014.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep, pembelajaran kooperatif, think pair squar
