PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TSTS

This quasi experimental research aimed to investigate the increasing of students’ mathematical communication skill by the implementation of cooperative learning model of TSTS type. The design of this research was the pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8 of SMP Negeri 21 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2013/2014 as many as 192 students which was distributed into 8 classes. This research samples were students of VIIIF and VIIIG class who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Based on the result of hypothesis test, it was found that the increasing of students’ mathematical communication skill who followed cooperative learning model of TSTS type was equal to conventional learning. Thus, it could be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model of TSTS type couldn’t increase of students’ mathematical communication skill. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS. Desain penelitian ini adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 21 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 sebanyak 192 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIF dan VIIIG yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS sama dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS tidak dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, konvensional, TST
