PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK PAIR SHARE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS

This was a quasi-experimental research that aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of TPS type towards student’s mathematical communication skills of SMP. This research used a posttest only control design with the population was grade seven students of Junior High School state Muhammadiyah 3 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2012/2013, which distributed into four classes unseeded. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The analysis of the data used two similarity test average. Based on the results of hypothesis test, it was concluded that generally, the mathematical communication skills of students who taught by cooperative learning model of TPS type better than mathematical communication skills of students who taught by conventional learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Desain penelitian ini adalah post-test only control design dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013, yang terdistribusi dalam empat kelas yang bukan unggulan. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji kesamaan dua rata-rata. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa secara umum kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS lebih baik daripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematis, model pembelajaran kooperatif, think pair shar
