This research aimed to investigate whether the implementation of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together was effective in increasing student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. This research design was pretest-posttest control design. The research population was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 2 Way Seputih in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into five classes. The research samples were students of VIII E and VIII F class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical conceptual understanding.
