Pengaruh Pemberian Reward dan Punishment Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik

The problem of this research was the lack of learning motivation of the fifth grade students. The purpose of this research is to find out (1) the effect of giving reward on the learning motivation, (2) the effect of giving punishment on the learning motivation,(3) the effect of giving reward and punishment together on the learning motivation. The type of thisresearch is a correlational. This research was conducted by using 155 students and 122 students as the respondent by usingproportional random sampling. The research instrument used is questionnaire. The result of this research are (1) there is significant effect of giving reward on the learning motivation, the correlation obtained 3.314it shows low category, (2) there is significant effect of giving punishment on the learning motivation, the correlation obtained 3.935it shows low category, (3) there is significant effect of giving reward and punishment together on the learning motivation, the correlation obtained 49.61 it shows quite strong category. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) pengaruh pemberian reward terhadap motivasi belajar, (2) pengaruh punishment terhadap motivasi belajar, (3) pengaruh reward dan punishment secara bersama-samaterhadap motivasi belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 155 peserta didik. Sampel penelitian ditentukan menggunakan proposional random sampling dengan jumlah 122 peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian reward terhadap motivasi belajar ditunjukan dengan korelasi sebesar 3,314 pada kriteria rendah, (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian punishment terhadap motivasi belajar ditunjukan dengan korelasi sebesar 3,935 pada kriteria rendah, (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian reward dan punishment secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi belajar ditunjukan dengan korelasi sebesar 49,61 pada kriteria cukup kuat.Kata kunci : motivasi belajar, punishment, dan reward
