Analysis of general shells and folded plates by the Finite Element Method, with the use of a plane triangular finite element with fifteen and also with eighteen degrees of freedom. A brief exposition of the Method in which its variational characteristic is pointed, is made at the begining. The development of the foregoing element is pursued with five options for the assemblage of the stiffness matrix of the structural system. An automatic program based upon this finite element is written in FORTRAN IV for an IBM/360 Model 40H computer. With this program it is possible the solution of structural systems with a maximum of 300 points and 500 elements.CNPqAnálise de cascas com forma geométrica arbitrária e estruturas laminares pelo método dos E...
