Analysis of excise tax on tobacco products and selected anti-smoking policies in the Czech Republic in 2004-2018

Bachelor thesis provides insight into state budget and tax theories that are important for a more detailed view of excise tax, briefly captures the theory of state intervention and price elastic demand. The thesis is an analysis of excise taxes on tobacco products in the Czech Republic In this period, there is an apparent increase in receipts from these taxes, so they are becoming increasingly important for the revenue side of the state budget. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on comparison with other states of the European Union, which implies that the rising price can be an important factor causing a decrease in the consumption of cigarettes. The thesis also deals with costs associated with smoking in the Czech Republic, which are not specifically quantified here, because they adopt methodology from the World Health Organization, which is not relevant to the Czech Republic.Bakalářská práce poskytuje náhled na významné aspekty jak státního rozpočtu, tak daňové teorie, které jsou důležité pro podrobnější pohled na spotřební daň, krátce se věnuje teorií státních zásahů a cenovou elasticitou poptávky. V práci je provedena analýza spotřební daně z tabákových výrobků v České republice. Ve sledovaném období je zde patrný nárůst inkasa z těchto daní, proto se stávají stále důležitějším pro příjmovou stranu státního rozpočtu. Dále se práce zaměřuje na komparaci s ostatními státy Evropské unie, z níž vyplývá, že zvyšující cena může být důležitým faktorem způsobujícím pokles spotřeby cigaret. Práce se zabývá rovněž náklady spojenými s kouřením v České republice, které zde nejsou konkrétně vyčísleny, protože přejímají metodiku od Světové zdravotnické organizace, která však není relevantní pro Českou republiku
