Industrial heritage on brownfields in Prague and the municipality’s role in its usage

Master thesis maps the role of the municipality and institutions in the relationship with the culturally and historically important sites in Prague brownfield areas. The main focus is put on the identificaiton of necessary characteristics of these sites, which may justify eventual protection followed by recovery. For this purpose a interactive map available at http://stkani.cz/BrownfieldMap/ has been created. The goal of this work is to map the city’s industrial heritage preservation and its recovery which may then serve as a basis for a future municipal policies.Diplomová práce mapuje roli města a jeho institucí ve vztahu ke kulturně či historicky významným stavbám na území pražských brownfieldů. Pozornost je věnována identifikaci nezbytných charakteristik kulturně či historicky významných staveb v rámci brownfields, díky nimž by pak příslušné stavby mohly být předmětem ochrany a následné obnovy. Pro účely práce byla vytvořena interaktivní mapa pro přehlednou orientaci dostupná na adrese http://stkani.cz/BrownfieldMap/. Cílem práce je zmapování prostředí ochrany průmyslového dědictví, které může sloužit jako základ pro formulování budoucích politik města
