Potential of the Vodochody airport in international passenger transportation

The Master´s Thesis analyses the potential of the Vodochody airport in international passenger transportation. The aim of this thesis is to analyze different international airports near Prague and find out if there is a potential for another airport. The subsequent aim is to describe the connection to the local infrastructure. Based on information about the airport decision needs to be made if the project can be under given circumstances executed. The theoretical part consists of information about the airport infrastructure including individual components. Consequently, the criteria for analysis are specified. The analysis itself states that there actually is a potential for a secondary airport near Prague that would provide additional capacity for passengers and aircrafts. The third chapter provides information about the Vodochody airport project including buildings and other objects. Local infrastructure is included as well. There is a finding that the biggest advantage of the local infrasturcture is a connection to buses of the Prague integrated transport. In discussion, a statement from press agent of the ROPID company is included. Limitations of this thesis are in inability to carry out interviews with the mayor of Odolena Voda and with representatives of the Václav Havel Airport Prague.Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem „Potenciál letiště Praha Vodochody v mezinárodní přepravě osob. Cílem práce je pomocí analýzy mezinárodních letišť v okolí Prahy zjistit potenciál pro zmíněné letiště, prozkoumat návaznou infrastrukturu a na základě získaných informací o letišti posoudit, zda je projekt uskutečnitelný. Teoretická část obsahuje vymezení letiště jako prvku infrastruktury letecké dopravy a následně jsou důkladně popsány jednotlivé komponenty letiště. Následuje stanovení kritérií pro analýzu letišť. Z provedené analýzy plyne, že v okolí Prahy existuje potenciál pro sekundární letiště, jenž by poskytlo potřebnou dodatečnou kapacitu odbavených cestujících a letadel. Třetí kapitola práce zkoumá samotný projekt letiště Praha Vodochody, včetně plánované výstavby objektů. Nedílnou součástí je návazná infrastruktura letiště, jejíž největší předností je napojení na autobusové linky Pražské integrované dopravy. V diskuzi jsou porovnána zjištění s literaturou a je zde uvedeno i vyjádření tiskového mluvčího společnosti ROPID. Omezením práce je nemožnost uskutečnit rozhovory se starostkou města Odolena Voda a se zástupcem Letiště Václava Havla Praha
