Work Motivation in Social Services

The aim of this Master´s Thesis is to outline the work motivation of employees working in social services. The main goal of this thesis is to formulate recommendations for how managers and social services coordinators can work with the motivation of their current and potential employees. As well as recommendations regarding the reduction of terminated employments. These recommendations are based on specific motivational factors and personality traits of workers that provide social services in Prague. This goal is achieved through quantitative research, and more precisely through a questionnaire-type survey. The data arising from this research was evaluated through a combination of regression analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis and the arithmetic average. The main findings of this research show that people enter the social services sector with the expectations that they will do what is important, to achieve the harmony of personal and work values and to use their skills. These expectations are fulfilled during their employment and are also a reason for them to remain in this profession. Reasons for leaving the profession were identified as dysfunctional working team, discrepancy of values, lack of livelihood, stress and tiredness.Tato diplomová práce se zabývá motivací pracovníků vykonávajících činnost v sociálních službách. Hlavním cílem této práce je formulovat doporučení pro vedoucí pracovníky a koordinátory sociálních služeb jak pracovat s motivací svých současných a potenciálních pracovníků. Stejně jako doporučení týkající se snížení míry odchodu pracovníků. Tato doporučení jsou formulována na základě zjištění specifických motivačních faktorů a osobnostních rysů pracovníků poskytujících sociální služby na území Prahy. Tohoto cíle je dosaženo pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu, přesněji pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Data vzešlá z tohoto výzkumu byla vyhodnocena pomocí kombinace regresní analýzy, hierarchické shlukové analýzy a aritmetického průměru. Hlavní zjištění vzešlá z tohoto výzkumu ukazují, že lidé vstupují do sektoru sociálních služeb s očekáváními, že budou dělat to, co je důležité, že dosáhnou harmonie osobních a pracovních hodnot a využijí své schopnosti. Tato jejich očekávání se v průběhu jejich pracovního procesu naplňují a jsou zároveň důvodem pro setrvání u této profese. Jako důvody odchodu byly identifikovány nefungující pracovní kolektiv, nesoulad hodnot, nedostatečný zdroj obživy, stres a únava
