Analysis of the behavior of university students in the labour market

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of student behavior in the Czech labour market with the influence of foreign study stays according to EUROSTUDENT VI survey. The main aim of the thesis is to find factors influencing this behavior using current scientific knowledge and statistical methods. The theoretical part focuses on the labour market situation in the Czech Republic, education and international mobility of students. Next part of the thesis describes the EUROSTUDENT VI investigation, its basic structure and description of data from this survey. The last part contains methodology of diploma thesis and description of used methods – logistic regression, decision trees and random forests. In the analytical part is described the resulting analysis of data with results and final discussion. Analytical part of the thesis is elaborated in program R. According to the results of logistic regression, it is confirmed that students who have been studying abroad are more likely to have paid work during the semester. Other factors that affect the paid work during the semester include the field of study, form and program of studies, age and whether the student had a paid job before entering college.Diplomová práce se věnuje analýze chování studentů na trhu práce s vlivem zahraničních studijních pobytů podle šetření EUROSTUDENT VI. Hlavní náplní a cílem práce je nalezení faktorů ovlivňujících toto chování s použitím aktuálních vědeckých poznatků a statistických metod. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na situaci na trhu práce v České republice, vzdělávání a mezinárodní mobilitu studentů. Další část práce popisuje šetření EUROSTUDENT VI, jeho základní strukturu a popis dat z tohoto šetření. Poslední část teoretické pasáže obsahuje popis použitých metod – logistické regrese, rozhodovacích stromů a náhodných lesů. V analytické části je popsána výsledná analýza dat s výsledky a závěrečnou diskuzí. Analytická část práce je vypracovaná v programu R. Podle výsledků logistické regrese je potvrzeno, že studenti, kteří byli během studia na studijním pobytu, mají větší šance mít během semestru placenou práci. Mezi další faktory, které mají vliv na to mít placenou práci během semestru, jsou zařazeny obor studia, forma a program studia s vlivem věku a toho, jestli student měl placenou práci už před nástupem na vysokou školu
