Statutory audit - the role of audit assistant

The diploma thesis deals with the role of audit assistant during the statutory audit. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the selected procedures, which are carried out by the beginning audit assistant during the individual phases of the audit from the beginning to the end of the audit season.This diploma thesis consists of four main chapters. The first chapter defines the concept of audit, describes its types and explains objectives of statutory audit. The second chapter deals with the legal regulation of the audit in the Czech Republic. The third chapter characterizes in details the phases of audit. This part is followed by a fourth chapter which describes how the audit assistant is involved in the specific phases of the auditing procedures and what is the purpose of his work. This last chapter is based primarily on my own experience as an audit assistant and on activities which I applied during my first year in the audit company.Diplomová práce se zabývá rolí asistenta auditora během statutárního auditu. Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je popsat vybrané postupy, které provádí začínající asistent auditora v rámci jednotlivých fází auditu od začátku auditorské sezony až do jejího konce. Tato diplomová práce se skládá ze čtyř hlavních kapitol. První kapitola definuje pojem audit, charakterizuje jeho druhy a vysvětluje podstatu a cíle statutárního auditu. Druhá kapitola se zabývá právní úpravou auditu v České republice. Třetí kapitola charakterizuje jednotlivé fáze. Na tuto část pak navazuje čtvrtá kapitola, která popisuje, jak je do konkrétních fází auditorských postupů zapojen asistent auditora a co je náplní jeho práce. Tato poslední kapitola vychází především z mých vlastních zkušeností na pozici asistenta auditora a z činností, které jsem měla možnost během prvního roku v auditorské společnosti aplikovat
