Comparison of insolvency proceedings of selected companies in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic

The Master thesis provides an analyse of the insolvency environment in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. The aim of the thesis is to compare the insolvency environment and the possibilities of solving bankruptcy in both countries. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of two chapters describing of the Insolvency Act and the Act on Bankruptcy and Restructuring. The practical part consists of three chapters. The third chapter is devoted to the Czech company Vítkovice Gearworks, a.s., contains the causes, course and consequences of reorganization proceedings. The fourth chapter describes the Slovak construction company Váhostav - SK, a.s. and also describes and evaluates the course of the reorganization. The last chapter focuses on a general comparison of the insolvency proceedings of the Czech and Slovak Republics.Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou insolvenčního prostředí České a Slovenské republiky. Cílem práce je srovnání insolvenčních prostředí a možností řešení úpadku v obou zemích. Diplomová práce je členěna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se skládá ze dvou kapitol, které se věnují popisu Insolvenčního zákona a Zákona o konkurze a reštrukturalizácii. Praktická část se skládá ze tří kapitol. Třetí kapitola je věnována české společnosti Vítkovice Gearworks, a.s., kde jsou rozebrány příčiny, průběh a dopady reorganizačního řízení. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá slovenskou stavební společnosti Váhostav – SK, a.s., a taktéž popisuje a zhodnocuje průběh reorganizace. Poslední kapitola se zaměřuje na obecné srovnání insolvenčních řízení České a Slovenské republiky
