The ethno-religious conflict in Rakhine state and its international context

This bachelor thesis focuses on the conflict in Rakhine state, which is situated in southwest area of the Myanmar. The thesis studies the historical context of the conflict, its causes, actors, development and resolution. Attention is given notably to the role of ethnicity and religion, taking into account the ongoing conflict. The last part of the thesis evaluates the international context and the influence of international actors on the course of the conflict and its current attitude to conflict resolution.Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá konfliktem v Rakhinském státě, ležícím na jihozápadě Myanmaru. Práce se věnuje historickému kontextu konfliktu, jeho příčinám, přímým i nepřímým aktérům, průběhu, vývoji a dosavadnímu řešení konfliktu. Pozornost je v této práci věnována také roli etnika a náboženství, přesněji islámu a buddhismu s přihlédnutím na probíhající konflikt. Poslední část práce klasifikuje mezinárodní souvislosti a především vliv mezinárodních aktérů na průběh konfliktu a jejich současný přístup k řešení konfliktu
