The importance of the origin of goods (using the example AOC)

The Bachelor’s thesis is focused on an origin of goods. The origin of goods represents one of the factors which influence an international competitiveness of product. The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is to confirm the hypothesis: “An origin of goods has a positive impact on its competitiveness.” The aim is achieved by an analysis of commercially political measures, protection of intellectual property law and marketing methods. The results of the analysis will be proved and summarized in the practical example AOC (Appellation d’origine contrôlée). It will, specifically, focus on French wines. In the first part, there is explained particularly how to determine and provide the origin of goods and how the country of origin influences preferential advantages and reduction of tariffs. The next part, is focused on the effect of appellation of origin on customers’ purchase decisions. In the last part, there is summed up the official classification of French wines and compared production, consumption and exportations of different French wines in France and in the world.Bakalářská práce se zabývá významem původu zboží. Původ zboží je jedním z faktorů ovlivňujících mezinárodní konkurenceschopnost výrobku. Cílem práce je potvrdit hypotézu „Původ zboží má pozitivní vliv na jeho konkurenceschopnost“. Cíl je naplněn prostřednictvím analýzy obchodně politických opatření, ochrany práv duševního vlastnictví a marketingových metod. Výsledky analýzy jsou prokázány a shrnuty na praktickém příkladu AOC (Appellation d’origine contrôlée), konkrétně francouzských vín. V první části práce je vysvětlen zejména způsob stanovení a prokazování původu zboží a vliv země původu na preferenční výhody, a s tím snížení celních sazeb. Dále se výklad zaměřuje na to, jak označení původu a ochranné známky působí na konkurenceschopnost obchodníků, a účinek země původu na rozhodování zákazníků při nákupu. V závěru je shrnuta oficiální klasifikace francouzských vín a porovnána produkce, spotřeba a exporty jednotlivých typů francouzských vín ve Francii a ve světě
