The legal status of third-country nationals in the EU

This thesis deals with the legal status of third country nationals in the EU. It focuses on the legal status of long-term residents and the right to family reunification. Particular parts of the thesis analyze these topics in relation to European law, discuss the rights and obligations of third-country nationals, which are contained in the relevant directives, and assess the impact of these directives. The last part is concerned with the issue of foreigners in the Czech Republic, it solves the matter of residency rights of foreigners and implementation of directives on the long-term residents status and the right to family reunification in the Czech legal order.Bakalářská práce se zabývá právním postavením příslušníků třetích zemí v EU. Zaměřuje se na právní postavení dlouhodobě pobývajících rezidentů a na právo na sloučení rodiny. Jednotlivé části práce analyzují tato témata ve vztahu k evropskému právu, rozebírají práva a povinnosti příslušníků třetích zemí, které jsou obsaženy v odpovídajících směrnicích, a hodnotí dopad těchto směrnic. Poslední část práce pojednává o problematice cizinců v ČR, řeší otázku jednotlivých pobytových práv cizinců a aplikaci směrnic o právním postavení dlouhodobých rezidentů a o právu na sloučení rodiny v českém právním řádu
