Regulatory changes in response to the financial crisis in the US

The main topic of this diploma thesis is a response of the American administration and its legislation to the financial crisis which took place between the years 2007 and 2009 and the resulting changes in the financial markets regulatory rules in the United States. The aim of the thesis is to analyze specific individual sections of the well-known Dodd-Frank Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and its impacts on the banking sector in the US. The first part of the thesis deals with the analysis of main causes of the so-called mortgage financial crisis of the first decade of the 21th century. Numerical evidence shows the impacts into the real economy and channels through which the crisis had spread into financial markets worldwide are also described. The following sections contain in-depth description and analysis of changes in regulatory legislation and rules governing the US banking and other financial institutions.Tématem této diplomové práce je reakce americké administrativy a zákonodárců na proběhnuvší finanční krizi z let 2007-2009 a s tím spojenou změnu regulatorních pravidel finančních trhů ve Spojených státech amerických. Cílem práce je analýza jednotlivých konkrétních ustanovení a jejich dopadů do bankovního sektoru z komplexního reformního zákona známého pod jménem Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. První část práce je věnována analýze příčin vzniku finanční krize, někdy též označované jako hypoteční, v první dekádě 21. století, na datech numerických datech jsou demonstrovány její dopady do reálné ekonomiky USA a popsány kanály jejího dalšího šíření na světové finanční trhy. V dalších kapitolách již následuje vysvětlení a analýza změn v regulatorních pravidlech vyplývajících pro bankovní sektor a některé další nebankovní finanční instituce v USA
