Liberalization of trade in services-threats and opportunities for developing countries

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the importance of international trade in services and to characterize its position in the global economy with a focus on developing countries. The thesis also deals with the process of liberalizing trade in services with an emphasis on GATS. The important part of the thesis is engaged in analysis of international trade in services in selected countries of the developing world - China, India, Brazil. The last chapter assesses the impact of liberalization of trade in services, which results from the analysis of the above mentioned countries and enabling better understanding the threats and the opportunities that liberalization of trade in services brings for the developing countries.Cílem této práce je analyzovat význam mezinárodního obchodu službami a charakterizovat její postavení ve světové ekonomice se zaměřením na rozvojové země. Práce se rovněž zabývá procesem liberalizace obchodu službami s důrazem na Dohodu GATS. Značná část práce je věnována analýze mezinárodního obchodu službami vybraných zemí z rozvojového světa - Čína, Indie, Brazílie. V poslední kapitole je hodnocen vliv liberalizace obchodu službami, který vyplývá z analýzy výše zmíněných zemí se zamýšlením se nad hrozbami a příležitostmi, která liberalizace obchodu pro rozvojové země přináší
