Taiwan as a factor in the relations of People´s Republic of China and Unites States

Already for several decades, the relations among the People's Republic of China, the United States of America and Taiwan are in a situation, which is hard to solve. The Taiwan Strait symbolizes a place, where whenever can break out a conflict between the United States and China. Chinese effort to take over Taiwan seems as the most assumed reason of the war, and in this case the USA would support Taiwan by force. The main aim of my work is an analysis of how important role plays the Taiwan question in relationships between China and the United States and how these relations are influenced by this problem. The Bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter analyses economic relations between China and the United States. Next three are focused on political and strategic relations between the USA and China. The first two of these deals with the American and Chinese foreign policy. The last chapter analyses the problems of armed forces. The conclusion is focused on a summary of observed facts.Vztahy Čínské lidové republiky, Spojených států a Tchaj-wanu se již několik desítek let nacházejí v téměř neřešitelné situaci. Tchajwanská úžina je místem, kde kdykoliv může vypuknout ozbrojený konflikt mezi Spojenými státy a Čínou. Jako nejpravděpodobnější příčina se jeví snaha Číny o anexi Tchaj-wanu, jemuž by se však v takové situaci dostalo podpory Spojených států. Cílem mé práce je analyzovat, jak důležitou roli hraje otázka Tchaj-wanu ve vztazích mezi Čínou a Spojenými státy a jak tyto vztahy ovlivňuje. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol. První kapitola rozebírá ekonomické vztahy Číny a Spojených Států. Další tři kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na politicko-strategické vztahy Spojených států a Číny. První dvě se věnují zahraniční politice Spojených států a ČLR. Poslední kapitola rozebírá problematiku ozbrojených sil. Závěr se věnuje shrnutí zjištěných faktů
