Regulation of tobacco consumption

The theme of this bachelor work is if regulation of tobacco are efficient and lead to decrease of cigarette consumption and another tobacco products. The work is focused on regulation with excise taxes which are one of the most important regulation tool. In theoretic part of the work are written the most common presented reasons and incentives for tobacco regulation and what is the impact on the population. The main part of the work is based on the theoretical part and tries to explain how is the consuption changing in time regarding the higher consumtion taxes. If those regulations have influence on demand for tobacco products and the demand declines.. This bachelor describes changes of official demand and does not treat the demand for tobacco products on black market. The goal of this work is to show if public and supranational institutions can decrease the tobacco products consumption with different regulation tools.Práce se zabývá tím, zda-li jsou regulace tabáku účinné a vedou ke snižování počtu kuřáků a spotřeby cigaret a ostatních výrobků z tabáku. Práce je zaměřena především na regulaci pomocí spotřebních daní, která je jedním z klíčových nástrojů regulace. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou rozvedeny nejběžněji prezentované důvody a motivy pro regulaci tabáku a jaký je teoretický dopad na společnost jako celek. Hlavní, praktická, část práce se na základě teorie se zabývá tím, jak se mění spotřeba tabákových produktů v čase, vzhledem ke stále se zvyšujícím regulacím. Zda-li tyto regulace mají vliv na poptávku po tabákových produktech a poptávka po těchto výrobcích klesá. Práce popisuje změny oficiální poptávky, nezohledňuje příliš růst poptávky po tabákových výrobcích prodávaných na černém trhu. Cílem bakalářské práce ukázat, jestli státní a nadnárodní instituce různými regulačními programy opravdu snižují spotřebu tabáku ve společnosti
