Karakteristik Spasiaal Curah Hujan Bulanan Wilayah Indonesia Berbasis Data Satelit GMS/MTSAT-1R

Rainfall is one of the most important climate variables in Indonesia because it affects many sectors, especially agriculture, forestry, transportation, which will ultimately impact on the economic sector. This study was conducted to estimate rainfall from satellite data and obtain information GMS/MTSAT-1R characteristics of Indonesian rainfall spatially based on satellite data. The main data used are the GMS/MTSAT-1R satellite data for 1995-2009 period. The methodology in this study to estimate rainfall 6-hourly resolution is done by using the data from the satellite channels IR1. Furthermore, the rainfall estimate data accumulated into daily and monthly data. To determine the characteristics of rainfall over Indonesia has done data processing monthly average during the study period. The results of this study have been derived rainfall estimates based on satellite data that converting the spatial characteristics of rainfall over Indonesia for 14 years . In general seem that the peak of the rainy season occurs in December in the range of values of 400 to 450 mm per month. While the peak of the dry season generally occurs in August where most of Indonesia received rainfall less than 100 mm per monthHlm.53-6
