Rainfall is one of the most important climate variables in Indonesia because it affects many sectors, especially agriculture, forestry, transportation, which will ultimately impact on the economic sector. This study was conducted to estimate rainfall from satellite data and obtain information GMS/MTSAT-1R characteristics of Indonesian rainfall spatially based on satellite data. The main data used are the GMS/MTSAT-1R satellite data for 1995-2009 period.
